Journalist
Amyah J. Bishop
Hello! My name is Amyah Bishop, and I’m a third-year Journalism student at Emerson College with minors in Pre-Law and Political Science.
Originally from Brockton, Massachusetts and currently based in Rhode Island, I focus on community-based reporting, event coverage, and stories that amplify underrepresented voices. My work centers on issues impacting Black and brown communities, with a growing interest in stories that speak directly to the next generation.
I’m involved in several campus organizations. I serve as Vice President of Emerson’s chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), and Secretary for EBONI (Emerson’s Black Organization with Natural Interest)
I have prior experience in radio having served as a news writer for WERS 88.9 FM’s News program You Are Here for 4 semesters.
When I’m not reporting, you can find me exploring the city, spending time with loved ones, or reading.
This site features a collection of my articles, photography, radio packages, and multimedia work accumulated throughout my classes at Emerson, as well as the many organizations I am a part of. If you’d like to get in touch, feel free to reach out via the contact form!
